Education-world.com is a great resource for teachers and administrators, but it is also one that parents would find useful, as well. The first thing that one notices is the animation. Not too much, but just enough to keep an adult's interest. Everything is organized neatly on the page, from the articles to the advertisements. Each section has it's own little text box. And, upon further examination, one notices the color-coding of the boxes to the links at the top of the page: the 'lesson planning' link is blue and the box around the 'lesson planning' section is blue; the 'technology integration' link and box are both green, etc.
One thing that this site has that I always appreciate is a search bar. Even better, you are given the option to search just this site, or the entire web. Search bar's are an invaluable tool when you don't have the time to browse through the site; the site brings the particular topic you're looking for right to you...and in a hurry!
This is a great site and the only negative I have found are the advertisements. Although, I don't really view those as negatives any more. I have chosen to accept the fact that those advertisements are what allow all this information to be made available for our use...FOR FREE!!
:-)
I highly recommend this site to my fellow educators. It contains up-to-date, reliable information to assist us in taking our students into 21st century education. It is very well organized and easily navigable. Information and tools are readily available for teachers of all grades and all subjects. No 'signing up' is necessary...simply navigate to the following page and find the information that you need: http://www.education-world.com/
Have fun!!
